Tetley and the Environment

Here at Tetley we recognise the human race is currently using up vital natural resources faster than they can be replaced. So we've spent some time understanding how our business uses these resources and how we can help conserve them. The Tetley Environment Policy [PDF: 800KB] summarises what we've decided to do as a result.

To help us achieve our environment objectives we've developed Environment Management Systems for our UK sites which are all certified to an international standard - ISO 14001.

And we're asking our people to focus on three things:

• reducing the amount of waste we create
• improving the environmental impact of any waste that we are responsible for
• reducing the amount of energy we use, both in our offices and factories, and in moving goods and people around.

This means amongst other things, we're looking closely at our packaging, challenging our engineers to make the teabag machines run even more efficiently, making sure there's no empty space in our trucks and shipping containers and reminding everyone in our offices to ‘think before you print'.
